In the Katta Kashqar neighborhood of the Uchkoprik district, there are 1,363 households, with lemon cultivation, woodworking, and bakery businesses serving as the primary economic drivers of the area. The residents of this neighborhood are generating significant income through these ventures.
Out of these households, 854 are engaged in lemon cultivation, 300 in woodworking, and 120 in bakery businesses, all of which provide stable livelihoods for local families. The lemons produced here are mainly exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Today, the Governor of the Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, along with the Regional Prosecutor, Bakhtiyor Ismoilov, visited the neighborhood to observe the ongoing initiatives.
Husanboy Soliev, a resident of the neighborhood, has established a woodworking business and, in addition, set up a greenhouse on his 3.5-acre plot, where he cultivates lemons. He earns an average income of 40-50 million soums solely from lemon production. His woodworking workshop employs 10 local youth.
Another resident, Davron Haydarov, is also engaged in similar activities at his home. From woodworking alone, he earns an average of 20 million soums per month.
During his visit, the regional governor reviewed these activities at their homes and discussed how industrious and dedicated individuals can achieve financial stability and well-being for their families. He gave directives to the district sector leaders to expand such successful, employment-generating neighborhoods in the region.
