Fergana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with Omar Imtiaz, CEO of the British company “Imtiaz Holdings.”
The meeting focused on the practical steps for establishing a football academy in the region in collaboration with the company, ensuring it meets modern standards.
The governor highlighted the growing attention in Uzbekistan towards engaging youth in sports, particularly football, and noted that the first football club in the country was established in Kokand.
Omar Imtiaz proposed strengthening collaboration between football clubs in Uzbekistan and Europe, suggesting the involvement of foreign coaches and sending local coaches abroad to enhance their experience and skills. Taking into account the high interest in sports among Fergana’s youth, he put forward the idea of establishing the football academy in the region. This academy would provide opportunities for athletes from Uzbekistan and neighboring countries to develop their talents.
The governor expressed his support for the proposal.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to develop a roadmap for the implementation of the project and to organize the necessary work accordingly.
