The international forum titled “Fergana Valley Gem: Prospects for Investment and Tourism” took place in the O’rda Square of Kokand. The event brought together nearly 200 company leaders, business representatives, and tourism organizations from over 30 countries, including Kuwait, Turkey, Hungary, China, South Korea, Qatar, and the UAE.
Khayrullo Bozorov, Governor of the Fergana region, welcomed all the guests and highlighted the prospects and opportunities for tourism and investment in the region.
The two-day forum played a crucial role in introducing the economic and investment potential of the Fergana region to the international community. It served as a platform for establishing communication with foreign countries and identifying potential joint projects that could bring mutual benefits.
As part of the event, B2B negotiations took place, where entrepreneurs successfully formed numerous new, beneficial connections and discussed the specific aspects of implementing new projects.
Following the forum, agreements and memorandums were signed in various sectors, including investment, pharmaceuticals, construction materials production, logistics centers, tourism, IT services, electrical engineering, and agriculture.
During the forum, a presentation on Uzbekistan’s investment potential was delivered. Additionally, prominent figures such as Akram Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade; Kairat Sadvakassov, Head of Kazakhstan’s National Tourism Company; Isaaka Abdulqadir Imam, Secretary-General of the D-8 Economic Organization; Kuwaiti investor Ali Mohamed, and others, praised Uzbekistan as one of the most favorable countries for investment and highly appreciated the forum organized in Fergana.
It was also announced that collaboration memorandums were signed between the regional government, the city of Kuvasoy, the districts of Kuva and Qoshtepa, and foreign companies participating in the forum.
In total, contracts worth $300 million were signed during the international forum held in Kokand.
