As part of the international forum “Fergana Valley Gem: Prospects for Investment and Tourism” held in Kokand, Governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with Kairat Sadvakassov, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan’s national company “Kazakh Tourism.”
During the meeting, the prospects for collaboration between the two regions in the development of pilgrimage tourism were discussed.
Kairat Sadvakassov presented proposals to develop pilgrimage tourism, establish cooperation between tourism faculties of higher education institutions in both regions, and strengthen ties for student and teacher exchanges to facilitate skill enhancement. He also suggested expanding cooperation in the areas of gastronomy, culture, and sports.
Governor Bozorov expressed his full support for each proposal and conveyed his readiness to expand the scope of cooperation.
It was agreed that a delegation from the Fergana region will visit Kazakhstan in the near future to further these discussions.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Fergana regional government and Kazakhstan’s national company “Kazakh Tourism” to promote interregional tourism development.
